Club Mwah! in Metro Davao

Friday, August 5, 2011

A Burlesque-ish feeling is taking over me right now! I sense a dazzling vibe that Club Mwah’s coming to the city will be a rare opportunity to see the world-class, dazing talents and performance from the country’s Vegas-like theatre club.

I attended the press conference for Follies de Mwah concert event yesterday at Grand Regal Hotel along with Mark Van, a few bloggers from Davao bloggers community, and every member of the media, ABS-CBN, TV5, Sunstar, Philippine Daily Inquirer and the rest of press con group. I should say that I have learned a lot from that first time experience most specifically, I have learned that the art of dancing is as great as the life itself. The performers do it in such a way that it'd convey a message that “dancing is a profession”, says Mr. Pocholo Malilin – owner of Club Mwah.

It took years for Club Mwah to gain its wide and great reception from the audience since it was opened in 2004. But all the hard work and efforts done by Mr. Pocholo and his partner, Cris Nicolas, eventually paid off, having been awarded with Outstanding Entertainment Theater Bar from Asia-Pacific Excellence Awards council in 2007, a Global Award of Excellence in the Theatre Club in 2008 and Aliw Award for Outstanding Theatre Club in the Philippines just last year. That is exactly the reason why most of the foreigners who visit Philippines never miss to come to Club Mwah and witness the bedazzling Club Mwah’s most widely known entertainment, “Follies de Mwah”.

Now, for once in a lifetime chance, Davao City will be dazzled by these world-class performers this coming August 19, 2011 at the Cap Auditorium in celebration of the Kadayawan festival, and I am inviting you all to come with us and be entertained with “Follies de Mwah” and get your tickets now! As Mr. Pocholo has shared to us, “art has no price” – to experience and appreciate art and what it imprints to us is absolutely priceless.

See yah there and wear your best dress!!!
